Trying to fill out a postgrad application form. Have it all done apart from the 'Personal Statement'.
I don't think 'I really like books' is going to be good enough there.... This is hard. I don't want to come across as too gushing but I do want to get my enthusiasm across. Also, not sure how much of a sense of humour these people will have. I should probably err on the side of caution there...

Nicked this from
Book - Non Fiction - Don't tend to read that much non-fiction actually... Um... Does 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' count? It's not quite fiction and I did read it this year...
Book - Fiction - Toss up between The Kite Runner and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.
TV Show - Heh. Torchwood of course!
TV Moment - The trailer for the TW crew at the end of 'Turn Left'. Up until then, had no idea they'd be in Doctor Who. I was so excited I actually danced to see them.
Album - Funhouse by Pink.
Single - I Kissed a Girl - Katy Perry. I'm embarrassed to actually say that but it is the single that stuck out most for me.
Movie - The Fall with Julian Bleach and that dude that plays Ned in 'Pushing Daisies'
DVD - TV Boxset of Six Feet Under
Actor - Movie - David Thewlis.
Actor - TV - William Fichtner in Prison Break. The only reason I continue to watch that show!
Actress - Movie - Zelda Williams (Robin Williams' daughter) in Were the World Mine.
Actress - TV - Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under)
Also the Top 5 Days of 2008
1) My birthday and the surprise sort-of party they threw for me in work.
2) The Hub. The Hub. The Hub.
3) My friends wedding.
4) Obama getting elected!!
5) Cardiff Uni Open Day - met some great people and got to see the Bay!

| Which Torchwood Character Are You? Your Result: Captain Jack Harkness You most resemble the team's outrageous, mysterious leader. Cheeky, sexy, and charming, people are drawn to your charisma, but at the same time you tend to keep your relationships superficial. You aren't afraid of your emotions and tend to just let them out, but you are afraid of truly connecting with those around you. | |

So for the last two weeks, I've been unable to get audio on any video I've watched on youtube. I've spent the past few days scrawling through various help sites for this, trying to reinstall Flash, looking at reinstalling the actual sound drivers themselves and loads of other things that I don't fully understand.
Guess what the actual problem was! The volume slider on the youtube videos themselves were at zero....

Just found out today that some of the people in my college are setting up a Dr. Who society. Part of which will be Torchwood related of course. So now, I have to decide whether the benefits of joining outweigh the embarrassment of being a member...
I'm sensing the embarrassment will win...

The Rules:
1. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.
3. At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people.
Oh, those of you that are new to my flist, this isn't something I do often, so try not to worry about being spammed! :D
( Random Ahoy! )
'kay. I've to tag eight people now. Apologies if you've already done this! And nobody has to do this either if you don't want to. I tag:
God, I love kids!
Was in work today and this woman comes up to the till with a little boy who was no more than four or five years old. He walks up the counter, as bold as brass, and asks 'Do you have a boyfriend?' Of course, me and the woman laugh and I tell him that I don't. He considers this for a moment, then says 'Oh. Do you have a girlfriend?'
It seriously made my day!
